Our objectives

The Hills Amateur Radio Group was founded in 1983 with the objective of:
“to bring together Amateur Radio Operators, Citizen Band Operators wishing to upgrade to Amateur Radio Status and Shortwave Listeners, in the maintenance and furtherance of the amateur radio spirit”
While this is still the primary objective of the club, in practice, HARG has evolved into an organisation that provides a venue and structure for local amateurs and others interested in the art and craft of radio telecommunications to meet on a regular basis to: socialise; share experiences; obtain advice; participate in events; and operate the club station.

Meeting days

Our official club days are the second and last Saturday of each month, although we generally meet every Saturday with the shack being opened around noon. At 1400 on the last Saturday a General Meeting of members is held. You are welcome to drop by on any Saturday, however check out our Facebook page to check that we are going to be open as from time-to-time the Guides or other community groups may have booked the hall.

Our location

Our shack is located at the Paxhill Guide Hall located at 5 Sanderson Road, Lesmurdie.

Our club callsign

The club call-sign is VK6AHR where “VK” refers to Australia, “6” is Western Australia and “AHR” is the club’s allocated callsign.
